Your First Visit to Our San Clemente Practice
Beginning Chiropractic Care
On your first visit to Ahrens Chiropractic, Erica or Amanda will greet you at the front desk. After you fill out a few forms there will only be a short wait before Dr. David Ahrens sees you. If you wish, you may print the first visit forms from your computer and complete them prior to your appointment.
If you have x-rays or MRI's from another facility, please bring them with you, if convenient. If you prefer, we will send for them.
You may also wish to bring your insurance card with you so that Erica can verify your chiropractic insurance coverage for you. That way you'll have a good idea what to expect as far as your out-of-pocket financial responsibility.
Your First Chiropractic Adjustment
The doctor will consult with you and complete a thorough examination. You don't need to wear a "gown" for this - street clothes are fine.
Sometimes the doctor will determine that x-rays are necessary in order to fully evaluate your condition. If you need x-rays we will take them in our office right away, using high quality digital x-rays equipment.
You may receive a chiropractic adjustment or other treatment on your first visit, or you may not. This is determined on a case-by-case basis. We don't want anyone to go home after their first visit in pain!
Expect to spend anywhere from 30-45 minutes with us on your first visit.
After you leave, the doctor will carefully review his exam findings, history, and any x-rays and determine a personalized course of treatment for you. Then, it's time for your second visit!
